The site is ten minutes walk out of Brantome, a magical village which has so much to see and do. The proprietors, Phillipe and Veronique, are helpful, friendly and are always around. It has a pool, beach by the river, a well-equipped play area for children, and super-clean sanitaires. We came here last year, and will probably come again next year. You were the only one out of several thousand customers this year not to find soap in one of our three sanitaries, so I recommend you, AGAIN, to look for another campsite. Now, to be complete about YOUR behaviour: you snapped your fingers at our cleaning lady to get soap, it was so embarrassing that a customer told you that she was not a dog your son knocked over a sponge covered with dish scraps in front of my cleaning lady with a sly smile and looking her in the eyes (and I promise you that he would have eaten the scraps on the floor, if I had been there), respect the hard workers is the minimum. That is why I asked you to stop this harassment. This bottle was moved by a customer to another sink so you didn't see it the second time you went to the bathroom and you kept sending us emails asking for the soap, which was there in the bathroom. Monsieur, Let's make sure your story is complete for our readers, shall we? I told you that the soap was in a bottle and not in the wall dispenser (you hadn't quite understood the point of this bottle next to the sink, apparently). We found that many of the showers and basins had only cold water. In our view there were insufficient toilets and basins, particularly in our second week when the campsite decided to close half the basins, for some reason. ![]() However, the toilet and washing block lets the campsite down. We enjoyed the easy walk into Brantome from the site. The campsite is in a good location, the river is fantastic and the campsite's pool is lovely. We found his attitude rude and inappropriate given the current concerns about Covid. When we contacted the owner again, he became aggressive and suggested that we leave the campsite to find another one "covered in soap". Eventually the soap was replaced only for it to disappear again the following day. After 36 hours, we contacted the owners who were very dismissive ("the cleaners have to prioritise cleaning the chalets on changeover day!"). With this in mind, we were surprised to find that there was no soap whatsoever in the toilet block. We arrived at the campsite in August 2020, at a time when Covid-19 was spreading in France again. I really don’t have any criticism for this site, perfect in every way and thank you for another beautiful stay. ![]() The site is in a prime position being only a 15 minute walk into beautiful Brantome with plenty bars and restaurants. The toilet & shower blocks are always spotlessly clean with plenty of hot water. There is also a bar with a lovely terrace where you can sit with a cold drink, they also serve food. The pitches are all of a good size, some of them are situated along the riverside with its own private beach where it’s nice to go in for a dip and cool off, or there is a large very clean pool with plenty of sunbeds and shade if needed. On arriving at the site you are made to feel very welcome by the family who make sure everyone has a lovely time. ![]() And, why haven’t I done this review before now: well, truth be told, I really didn’t want to share this gem of a place with anyone else but I now feel it’s time that the owners should have a well deserved review. ![]() I have been coming to camping Le Peyrelevade for 5 years now.
